Pilot Project on the Application of Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Water and Solar Panel Management Efficiency
The Company is implementing a pilot project involving the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data to manage and maintain solar panels. The project aims to enhance power generation efficiency, reduce environmental impacts, and promote the efficient use of water resources at solar power projects.
The project focuses on using AI to analyze solar panel operating data, enabling the rapid and accurate detection of panel irregularities, such as panel degradation, dust accumulation, and shading that affects power generation efficiency. The system also analyzes Soiling Loss to determine the need for solar panel cleaning based on actual environmental conditions, such as dust levels, humidity, temperature, and weather, instead of following fixed cleaning schedules. This helps reduce unnecessary water consumption and enhances water management efficiency within the projects.
The Company piloted the application of AI and Big Data at two solar power plants. The system detected more than 300 instances of solar panel defects, over 20% of which involved early-stage degradation. This helped reduce potential future damage, lower labor and maintenance costs, and increase power generation efficiency by up to approximately 10%.
